Hennepin County Attorney’s Office makes additional disclosure regarding Mark Lanterman

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office released the following statement after filing an additional disclosure:

“As previously stated, our office attempted to verify Mr. Lanterman’s background after concerns were raised. We were unable to fully verify Mr. Lanterman’s educational and employment background and, in keeping with our constitutional obligations under Brady/Giglio, we have now sent disclosures on ten pending cases we have identified as being potentially impacted. We are continuing our review for additional current or past cases that may be affected. We will continue to update our disclosures on potentially impacted cases as needed.

In compliance with our constitutional and ethical obligations, today, we sent an additional disclosure on the ten cases that are potentially impacted. This disclosure states that the FBI is now investigating the allegations against Mr. Lanterman. Additionally, it includes statements that Mr. Lanterman sent to the HCAO on March 11, 2025, and March 19, 2025, in response to some of the allegations regarding his educational credentials. Finally, it includes a photograph of a certificate from Harvard/HarvardX that Mr. Lanterman sent to the HCAO on March 12, 2025.

We will provide updates on additional disclosures and impacted cases as our review continues.”
