Minneapolis man sentenced for sexual assault, robbery of sex worker
1/3/2025
Dalvin Jarrell Crockett, 23, was sentenced Friday to 192 months on one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct while armed with a dangerous weapon and one count of first-degree aggravated robbery.
Mr. Crockett was found guilty of both counts by a Hennepin County jury in November. The jury also found that the victim was particularly vulnerable at the time of the assault and that Crockett engaged in a high level of planning of the offense.
“The successful resolution of this case was assisted greatly by the courage of the victim in testifying and tremendous work by our trial team and staff,” Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. “Today’s sentencing brings appropriate accountability to Mr. Crockett for his actions.
“It is unfortunately common for sex workers to be overlooked or ignored by the justice system when they’re victimized. Our laws protect all members of our community. There are no exceptions.”
