Prosecutors get 24-hour extension in two Minneapolis murder cases

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has been granted a 24-hour extension involving suspects in two separate homicide cases, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced Wednesday.

With the extensions, prosecutors have until noon Thursday to make a decision on whether to bring charges against Richie Vessel and Jerry Westrom.

Vessel is a suspect in the Saturday fatal shootings of Eileen mark and Jennifer Angerhoffer in Mark’s Minneapolis apartment. Westrom is a suspect in the 1993 murder of Jeanie Childs.
